ADR England data is mainly accessed via the Office for National Statistics Secure Research Service, a trusted research environment. Our data is securely available for accredited researchers to apply to access, for approved research projects.

Become an accredited researcher
Before you can access ADR England data, you must go through an accreditation process through the Office for National Statistics.
Create an account on the accreditation hub to make your application. The process includes undertaking Safe Researcher Training and passing a final test.
Submit an accredited research project
Once accredited as a researcher, you can submit your research project for approval. This includes an assessment of the ethics of your proposed research and checks that the data requested matches the research questions being asked.
For using the ONS SRS, applications are submitted to the Project Accreditation Service for SRS (PASS):
Access the data
You can access ADR England data via three main routes:
- In the ONS Secure Research Service
- Via an approved, secure connection (known as Assured Organisational Connectivity) to the ONS Secure Research Service
- In one of a network of SafePods based at academic institutions around the UK.
